Private Tours Tasmania

What is so special about Tasmania?

Why are so many people visiting here for a long weekend, 5 days, a week, 10 days? And many are travelling a long way to visit for a holiday or a work conference?

What are some of the attractions for solo travelers, couples, families, businesses and associations?

The reasons are varied, but one thing is certain: The Derwent Experience is your premier partner for private tours and custom itineraries.

Wilderness

places of wild beauty, and embracing the elements are so accessible.

For some it is Nature, the Aurora Australis or Southern Lights, clean water and fresh air. For others it is History and Heritage, and for others it is Food and Wine, fresh produce and markets. Modern Tasmania certainly offers all of these attractive elements, so it is not surprising that year on year Visitor numbers are increasing.

The Derwent Experience is a resource for Visitors to use, even before they arrive in Tasmania, to help plan activities and logistics and then of course, bring it all together when the exciting moment to enjoy Tasmania happens.

We love Wine and Whisky and we only have a short amount of time - can you help us?

I really enjoy being able to bring Tasmania alive to Visitors, and with a recent group I asked some questions to better understand their motivations in coming to Tasmania.

Sam: What was the main attraction for you to come to Tasmania and experience it for yourself?

Rachelle: It was Aurora Australis at first, but because of your wine tour, we explored a whole lot of beautiful sceneries, food and culture Tassie has to offer. Cant wait to go back to explore more.

Sam: Was Tasmania a good place to bring both your young family and your Parents? Did everyone enjoy themselves?

Rachelle: yes! We booked a big airbnb accommodation and the kids had fun with the food, sceneries, and the playground/parks.

Sam: How did you find Tasmanian Food and Wine?

Rachelle: Friendly staff, accommodating to guests, really great wine! Maybe it’s best for us to go to a time/season where grapevines are growing and not winter season when it’s done. So, we can see the beautiful vineyards.

Sam: Would you recommend Tasmania to other Families from far away, a long flight away, to visit? if so, why?

Rachelle: definitely we will! In fact, I have Derwent Experience already on record so we can contact you again the next time we visit.

Thank you, Rachelle, it was an absolute pleasure to back and forth with you well in advance of your visit with your Family. And even more so once you were here, in Hobart, to be the one to guide and drive you all around.

Rachelle’s very kind review post-holiday can be viewed on our home page. Thank you, Rachelle and your Family. I really look forward to seeing you and your Family and Friends at any time.

Our experience was INCREDIBLE! I can’t believe Sam (owner) made wine tasting tours a FAMILY-FRIENDLY one! He accommodated our request to bring along with us our kids since we also want them to enjoy the sceneries and the vineyards. Of course, they can’t have wines - Sam went above and beyond by making sure kids get busy also by bringing some color pads, crayons and other activities that our kids can enjoy. Sam has been so helpful eversince I inquired about their services down to the day of our tour. He shared to us further what we can do at Hobart during the rest of our stay. If I had known that he offered other tour services other than the wine tastings, we would’ve had him the entire duration of our stay! ✨ Thank you, Sam!
